パーントゥ（宮古島）
宮古島の2つの地区に数百年前から受け継がれる祭祀。島尻地区では神様に扮した3名の青年が集落を駆け回り、あらゆる人や物に泥を塗りつけて厄祓いをします。神聖な泥は強烈な臭いを放ちますが、塗られると一年間を無病息災で過ごせると言われています。
The ritual has been passed down for hundreds of years in the two districts of Miyako Island. In Shimajiri area, three young men dressed as gods run around the village and smear mud on all people and things to exorcise them. The sacred mud gives off a strong odor, but when applied, it will be possible to spend the next year without any illness and accident.
