黒島の黒毛和牛（黒島 / 竹富町）
牛の数が人口を遥かに上回っていることから、別名「牛の島」とも呼ばれる黒島。放牧地でのびのびと育つ牛たちは、肉質の良さで知られる肉牛・黒毛和牛です。やがて島外に出荷され、石垣牛や松阪牛などのブランド牛に成長します。
Kuroshima Island is known as the “island of cattle” because the cattle number far exceeds the population. The cattle that are raised freely in the pastureland are Japanese black cattle known for their high quality. Eventually, the cattle are shipped out of the island and grow to become brand-name cattle such as Ishigaki beef and Matsusaka beef.
