残波大獅子（読谷村）
残波岬いこいの広場のシンボルとして有名な「残波大獅子」。1985年に、かつて中国との貿易で栄えた読谷村の国交文化を伝えるために設置されました。高さ約9mの獅子の姿は迫力満点。晴れた日に見上げると、青空に鮮やかな赤茶色が映えます。大獅子の隣には、中国交易で用いられた進貢船をイメージした展望台もあります。
This Giant Shisa statue is famous as a symbol of Cape Zanpa Ikoi Square. It was built in 1985 to convey the history of the diplomatic culture of Yomitan Village that once prospered from trade with China. The appearance of this 9 m-high Shisa statue is very impressive. On a sunny day, you will find a beautiful, bright, reddish brown color in the blue sky. Next to the Giant Shisa, there is an observatory that is modeled after a ship that was used for trading with China in the Ryukyu Kingdom.
