琉球八社 安里八幡宮（那覇市）
国際通りにほど近い、住宅街にたたずむ「安里八幡宮」。琉球八社の中でも最も歴史がある神社です。第一尚氏王統の最後の国王・尚徳王が遠征での八幡大菩薩のご加護に感謝し、1466年に創建されたと伝えられています。鳥居の背景にはツインタワーが建ち、古今が交わる神秘的な雰囲気が漂っています。
Located in a residential area near Kokusai Street is the oldest shrine among the eight Ryukyu shrines. It is said that King Sho Toku, the last king of the First Sho dynasty, established the shrine in 1466, in gratitude for the blessing of the Hachiman Daibosatsu during the expedition. Twin towers stand in the background of the torii gate, as the scenery gives a mysterious impression of a mix of ancient and modern times intersecting.
