琉球八社 識名宮（那覇市）
琉球王国において王府から特別の扱いを受けていた「琉球八社」の一つ。王子の病を治癒したと伝わる霊験あらたかな神社です。創建時は敷地内の洞窟にお宮がありましたが、湿気により腐朽し、1680年に洞窟の外へ移築されました。
One of Eight Shrines of Ryukyu that received special treatment from the royal government in the Ryukyu Kingdom. It is a shrine with a powerful spiritual power as it is said to have cured the prince’s illness. At the time of its construction, there was a shrine in a cave on the premises, but it rotted due to humidity and was relocated out of the cave in 1680.
