八重岳桜の森公園（本部町）
沖縄の桜前線は、夏に休眠したつぼみを目覚めさせる寒波とともに、北から南へと南下します。日本一早い開花で有名な本島北部・八重岳では、頂上付近から咲き始め、1月中旬～2月上旬にかけて約7000本の寒緋桜が見頃を迎えます。
The cherry blossom front in Okinawa advances from north to south with a cold wave that awakens the dormant buds in the summer. At Yaedake in the northern part of
the main island, which is famous for the earliest cherry blossom flowering in Japan, it begins to bloom near the summit, and about 7,000 Taiwan cherry trees are in full bloom from mid-January to early February.
